  • Processor

    The HP Z440 supports one Intel Xeon E5-1600v3 or E5-1600v4 series processor. The Hyper-Threading support allows two threads to run simultaneously on each core -- Windows recognizes 16 total cores on the Z440, 8 real and 16 virtual. It also supports "Turbo Boost" which automatically boosts the processor speed based on workload - so if an application is only using one of the 44 cores it will automatically increase the speed of the core in use and turn off the unused cores.

    Memory

    The Z440 has 8 DIMM Slots supporting up to 512GB DDR4 ECC Memory. If you wish to have more than 128GB memory, please contact us. Choose more memory to improve overall system performance.

    Drive Bay 1

    The Z440 has two internal 3.5" SATA3 (6GB/s) bays. You can arrange any combination of hard drives or solid-state drives. ZWorkstations stocks only new condition and latest model Western Digital hard drives and Samsung solid-state drives.

    This section will be disabled if a solid-state drive in the Primary or Secondary Drive section is selected. Select an additional drive in Drive Bay 2 below.

    The Z440 chassis comes with a built in DVD Burner drive.

    Optical Bay (Upper)

    The Z440 chassis has two 5.25" bays to be used for optical drives, hard drives, or solid-state drives. One DVD Burner drive that burns and plays CDs / DVDs comes standard.

    Since hard drives are 3.5" and solid-state drives are 2.5", the drive adapters are included in the listed price.
